GISAXS Analysis

Some useful hints how I usually do it in Fit2d

Integrating over cuts

  • A single cut can be made with DISPLAY SLICE from the SAXS/GISAXS menu. However, for weak peaks you may want to make e.g. several vertical cuts around the incident plane.
  • There is also a tool in the SAXS/GISAXS menu under DISPLAY, PROJECTION with which you can integrate over several cuts. . The first two clicks define you the line along which to cut and the second two the width of the cut.
  • The x-axes has do be modified with the AXES SCALES command from the keyboard interface
  • Don't use BEAM CENTRE, FIT 1-D PROJECTION or PROJECTION in the SAXS/GISAXS menu directly. They will ask for the direct beam and some strange things will happen, which I haven't figured out so far. The FIT 1-D PROJECTION might be helpful at other points (maybe horizontal cuts? I have worked only on vertical cuts so far). I am still testing this procedure in Fit2d. Alternatively, one can still do it in origin
  • In Origin the q_z Integration is performed with statistics on rows.
  • In Origin a q_par Integration is performed with statistics on columns.
